Friendly staff. Camping spots are very tight unless you’re lucky enough to get one of the coveted spots on the water. Also hardly any shade trees which is a drawback. Pet friendly. Family friendly. Expensive too but that’s the sign of the times.

Pros: on the water, very close to all Acadia activities on Mt. Desert Island, close to Bar Harbor for any necessary shopping, beautiful sunsets, fairly quiet considering the fact the campground was full, easy and seamless check in.
Cons: sites on top of each other - enough room for your slides and awnings though. Every little extra thing you want, except hot showers, is an extra fee. This would be OK with us if the nightly fee weren't so high already. Impossible to get an oceanfront site unless you book more than 12 months in advance. This is due to the fact that KOA invites you to book the same site for the same time period the next year when you are checking in. KOA does not enforce it's own lights out rules so we had several nights of having the neighbor's LED awning lights shining into our camper. Not ideal.

The sites are fairly cramped -- not awning-bumping-the-neighbor cramped but you are reminded not to dump your tanks while your neighbor is outside having breakfast. AT&T cell service was good. The Wifi in parts of the campground was very good but not where we were staying (I suspect the access point was having issues). Plenty of amenities and activities for the kids and a good camp store. Our site was very level with good hookups. Given the scenery and the proximity to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Forest, I would definitely recommend.

Bathrooms and showers very clean. Took advantage of pancake breakfast offered on Sundays. Several kid-friendly activities provided. Sites have very nice water views even for our site which was an “interior” site.

The staff was helpful, the utilities worked, and the showers and restrooms were clean and functional. Bar harbor is 8 miles as is the entrance to Acadia. The location of the campground was great and the access to the Mt. Desert Island activities was fine. We had no problems. There are surely some sites that could be picked at this campground with lesser views. The only reason I do not rate this campground a five overall is that it is comparatively pricy.

Campground was really tight. it was functional and clean....typical KOA. I would be interested in staying at other parks on the island. It is hard to get a water front site, so book way early!!

There are plenty if other campgrounds within Acadia.
The plus - there’s a great lobster shack on the property which delivers fresh lobster to your campsite.

This place is as pretty neat. We splurged a little for a waterfront site. Downside is it only had electric and water. Supposedly they have a honey wagon that comes through. We woke up to a gorgeous view every morning. It was a little to cold to sit outside.
The campground was clean and had a cute little stand that had breakfast in the morning and a lobster dinner at night. The lobster and corn were tasty but the coleslaw and postage salad side were substandard. We got it to go to take it back to our MH and within seconds the bottom of the bag was falling out and lobster juice was everywhere. So be careful. They also had lobster rolls, mussels, etc. and ice cream for dessert.
The campground had tight spaces but with picnic table and fire ring. It is also a great location for getting around. There was a laundry room with a lot of machines. Everything was very clean including the bathrooms.
There is a lot to do in the area so it makes for a great vacation.
