I didn’t stay here but used their showers ($5), dump station ($11), water refill ($6), and got propane the last week of May 2023. Was pleased with how nice the staff are and how clean everything was. The RV lots look generously sized. Their posted per night price was$45

We stayed here five nights in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. The park is reasonably large. We had no problems getting a spot here. Sites are gravel, level and very well maintained. All are pull through. Hookups are in excellent condition. Sites had plenty of room, many had tables and some had fire pits. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
There are not many ammenities in the park. The office can provide great information on the nearby national parks and other attractions. Showers and laundry are available for a fee, though we did not use them. Propane was available. The nearby gas station easily accommodates RV's.
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are 35 minutes away. There are petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks nearby. Our grandchild loved the Moab Giants dinosaur exhibit. There is also easy access to hundreds of miles of off-road trails and hiking trails.
The RV park is conveniently located near the highway, but not too close. There is very little highway noise. The park was quiet and peaceful for the most part. There is a nearby rail line and you may wake to a train once or twice a night.
We had 4 bar LTE with Verizon. I was able to use my hotspot, and my wife played her Xbox game. The Wi-Fi available at the park was fine, though the game could not be played using it.
This was a very nice place to stay while traveling. It is an excellent place to stay to visit the area attractions while avoiding the high cost of RV parks closer to Moab. We will stay again when traveling this way.

We arrived late in the day but staff was super helpful! Set up was easy, full hook-ups with cable! Nice bathrooms and laundry facilities! 35 minutes to the Arches and 50 minutes to Canyonlands.

We came in late October so there was no problem getting a site without a reservation. Very helpful at the desk. Full hookups are pretty standard. The sites would be very close if they were full but lots of room this time of year. The sites are level gravel. Each site looks like it could hold a 40+ foot rig with the tow vehicle besides. They had heated water sources so freezing is not an issue. There is no antenna reception but they have cable. I could not get anything but static on my rig but haven’t used cable before so it could be my connections. AT&T has good service with 2 bars of LTE but I had no trouble streaming with that. The camp has a WiFi but they throttle you if you stream. Making a connection was often difficult. I would not trust it if the park is full. There are no amenities beyond showers and restrooms. The site is within 30 minutes of Arches National Park but also close to Moab, Dead Horse State Park, Canyonlands National Park and a 1-2 hour drive to Goblins State Park, Capitol Reef National Park and Bryce Canyon.

Price has changed from the $23 reported in July 2022. On sep 17 price is now $45. Park is fine, a little too close to the railroad tracks just a significant increase in the overnight charge.

We stayed in site 36 for a month while exploring the area.
We liked it for the space bt sites and were not right next to others like the Moab parks.
Only downside for us was the extremely loud trains.

They are all gravel sites and fairly level. There are no shaded sites, the campground is very open. Arches NP and Moab are about 35-40 minutes away and Canyonlands is about 45-50 minutes away. There is 1 washer and 1 dryer. $4 for a wash and dry or $2 for each if you only need one or the other. It was quiet for the most part BUT there are 3 different trains that pass through just on the north side of the park: cargo, Amtrak and the Rocky Mountaineer and all blow their horns as they go by.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ballard RV park. Thompson Springs is a tiny town just off I-70, and about 30 minutes from entrances to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, and similar distance from Moab. The campground is clean and well kept up, with good shower and laundry facilities. But the differentiator was how friendly and helpful the hosts were. Our mail delivery service arrived a couple days after we had left Ballard RV park, but the hosts offered to drive 45 minutes to meet us halfway to our next campground!! Their kindness saved us at least an hour and a half of extra driving, and they refused to take any payment for the assistance. Such great people!!

It's a bit out of the way but not too far for a basecamp. The sites and roads are gravel, the road is a bit loose so you can't really bike on it that easily if you have kids. The hook ups were pristine, they look brand new. All the sites are nice, mostly level, pull throughs. There aren't many views to speak of and little to no privacy. It was 3 stars for us but a nice stop over on our way through town.

Antelope! They seem to wander around near the train tracks in this little community. They were a little shy, but they did pose long enough for me to get this shot. This hotel has seen it's best...
