Our site #97 was mostly level - slight grade front to back - with plenty of room for Skoolie and follow car. Electric only site; other sites had water access, but there are water spigots around the CG. AT&T hotspot worked fine for streaming and video calls. Clean bathrooms

Sites are mostly in open field with little shade and little space between them. Good hiking and access to water sports. On a Saturday night in hot August with full campground, the electricity failed regularly.

I don't know if it is a seasonal thing or regular schedule, but the park office was not open on a Saturday. There are campsites closed off due to the upcoming upgrades. There is an Army Corps of Engineers lake that the campground has access to. Will be definitely staying here again.

Stayed 1 night(a Thursday) on our way to State College. We had a full hook-up site on the non-pet loop-Oak Loop. Site #06. We did not make a reservation, just showed up, checked the board for available sites and paid with the envelope/honor system. $46.50 which seems expensive for a state park but it was well kept and in a beautiful location in Bald Eagle State Park. There is a Pets Loop too but it was pretty full. Camp Host was on Site #01 and very friendly. Gave me a ride out to the envelope drop so I didn’t need to walk out. Beautiful views of the mountains. We did not use any facilities. They had a few boat ramps, beach area, big playground area, and multiple hiking trails. It was just an overnight but looked very family friendly and had fall activities happening that weekend. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring. Sites were blacktop or stone. Was able to get signal for Dish TV and 3 bars on T-Mobile phone service. Would stay there again.

A little off the beaten path for those just passing through.

One day while away from our campsite, park personnel mowed mid-cafe high grass at and around our site and the mowers threw grass all over our table with a table cloth, chairs, trailer, driveway...you name it...it was covered with grass. Why the mowers didn’t direct the mowed grass AWAY from our items is beyond me. What a mess!!!
Check-in clerk at park office was disturbed we checked in with her. Told us just to go to site. Could not tell us if site was vacated. We had to ask for a park map and directions to campground/campsite since this was first time visiting
Site MO45 unlevel from side to side
Site MO45 NO shade as was the case with most of the FHU campsites
Metal frame wood top table in bad condition
Need pathway from upper campsite to toilet/shower building…have to wade thru mid-calf high grass if you don’t walk on the roadway
Toilet/shower facility lit up like a Christmas tree
Toilet/shower facility cleaned on Wednesdays only, according to sign on door
No WiFi

There is a mix of 50 and 30 amp, some sites with water some without. Very quiet. I found the sites easy to back into due to the layout. One loop allows animals, the other doesn’t. I was able to make a very last minute reservation with a number of site options available.
If coming by gps, make sure you put in Bald Eagle State Park modern campground. 9 miles to a number of big box stores and 30 to Penn State.

Some of the sites could be more level. We stayed in M37 and had to put three 2” x 12” under each rear jack to level our class A motorhome.
AT&T had very fast download speeds. (80+ MPS)
