Lots of fish jumping in the little river. Note: loooooong walk to the pit toilets from the back camping sites. Choose wisely.

However, the black flies were HORRID around the tables, grills and trash cans. Trash was left around, despite there being numerous trash cans. Vault toilets were surprisingly clean and didn’t smell terrible. Planned to stay 2 nights but left after 1 when we were able to see everything we planned and weren’t super inclined to stay. All of our neighbors only stayed one night as well. Not terrible, but not super great either.

This small campground was in a beautiful, peaceful location but we could only give it 3 stars because of the shady peeps in the area. We saw the same white truck and white car come in separately multiple times... once after midnight. The white car sped by again in the morning leaned back in his seat trying not to be seen. So bizarre. Otherwise it’s a great little campground. Not many spots as the back half is closed temporarily (where the shady peeps like to go). We camped there Sept 26, 2018. No AT&T service. Vault toilets. Grassy picnic areas. Some trash strewn about. First come first served unmanned area. The free price tag, Balanced Rock formation, and proximity to Shoshone Falls drew us in. (Unfortunately the falls is bone dry right now.) I had a restful night but my husband said we won’t be staying there again due to the shady peeps who want to cruise and park in this tiny campground. We were glad that two RVs were also there. I would not camp here as a female alone.

This was a great boondocking spot however there are a few things that you should know. First, there’s no cell coverage here but if you go 1.5 miles south, there 3 bars of Verizon LTE. Second, when you arrive to this spot pull into the side, Then you go and scout in your spot. This is a very small road going into the park and you will want to ensure that you have a spot. There is a large turn around at the very end but if there are cars parked there you cannot get back out. On the weekends it’s more busy, but through the week we were the only ones there.
Access requires planning.
The location is about 20-30 minutes from the main highway but it’s really clean and well-maintained. There were lots of trashcans, clean bathrooms, and it was quiet!

It was a little tight turning around in the campground but we managed without detaching our car. There are picnic tables, sun shelters, vault toilets, grills, and trash cans here. There was also a little creek running thru.
Wish we stopped here on the weekend so we could have hung out a few days. There is weak cell service just a mile or so from the campground if you don't really need to be connected.
