Do you need to make reservations for one of the 73 sites at Bakers Hole Campground or is it first come first served? Thanks!

When we were there last June (2020), all of the sites were first come, first served. We arrived at about 10am on a Monday and we were lucky enough to snag the only electric site available. As I recall, there were about 5 or so sites available when we arrived. Seemed that an early AM arrival on most days would snag a spot of some type.

Answered on 5/18/2021:

When we went it was FCFS, but I did not check whether it switched to reserved later in the season, since we were early.

Last year they were all FCFS so I assume they still are. The earlier you arrive, the more likely you are to get a spot as someone is pulling out. We had a beautiful site along the river.

My recollection is that the sites are FCFS. We arrived early in the morning and were able to secure one of several open spots. Ours had electricity.

Starting in 2023, nineteen of the sites (some electric, some not) are reservable on recreation.gov. The rest are still FCFS.
