Area was beautiful, lot of traffic but only 60 feet from the stream, couldn’t see the stream due to over growth, but could hear it. Sound of the stream was relaxing. No t-mobile phone service near this area, lost service about 7 miles out of Ketchum.

“So many great spots along this road!”

Baker Creek Canyon is a well-graded road that has over 35 sites available on it. (We stopped driving at 35 and turned around so we're not actually sure how many there are!) This is dispersed camping but the sites are numbered to help reduce the impact on the land and make sure that people just use existing sites. There is a 16-day camping limit here.

There are many types of sites - some right by the creek, some with a lot of shade, some to pull through, some to back in, etc. Keep driving along and you'll find the one that's just right for you.

We chose site 29 because it was right next to Alden Gulch, a small stream that flowed right along our campsite and then into Baker Creek about 50 yards away. We also selected this spot because it had full sun for the trailer for our solar panels and because this is where we watched the eclipse in August 2017! There was a small copse of trees as part of the campsite and in the afternoon we took our lawn chairs there to stay cool in the shade. Plus, a lot of great hammock options!

There are two reasons I'm not giving this site 5 stars: first, it really is quite near the road which does get a fair bit of traffic (especially on the weekends). The site is lower than the road so we didn't feel like people were looking directly into our site, especially because of the angle we parked our trailer to increase our privacy, but it *is* closer to the road than I would prefer for a 5-star site. Second, there is no cell service in this area at all. Basically once you're about 4 miles north of Ketchum, ID the cell service stops completely and this road is in a total dead zone. It was great for us because we were in vacation mode, but this would make this spot unusable for working nomads.

Baker Creek Road is 7 miles north of the turnoff for the Sawtooth National Recreation Ranger Station on Hwy 75. (Heading north you'll turn left onto Baker Creek Rd.) Our spot (#29) was exactly 3 miles down the road, but again - there are sites all along the road on both sides - many options! We were about 300 yards from spot 28 which was part of the East Fork Baker Creek Campground (https://www.campendium.com/east-fork-baker-creek-campground) and about 150 yards from spot 30, which was over a bit of a rise and we couldn't really see them.

Two thumbs up on this spot - we will definitely be back again!
