Stayed in July 2023 during a scorcher of a hot spell, and extended 2 nights b/c Badlands boondocking was not a viable option. The staff was accomodating, and we enjoyed the stay very much.

We arrived 1 hr 20 mins before check to a park that was 25% full and were told by a flustered front desk person we would have to go wait somewhere…they “weren’t ready yet”. This camp is in the middle of farmland so we had to tow ourselves into the National Park and wrangle parking in the visitors center which is exactly why we paid $100/night to avoid. When we returned thank goodness Denise was at the front desk and she was great. The next day we say 2 different rv’s being escorted to their sites at the exact time we were trying to check in…hmmm.

• Main reason I would stay here again, is there are not many other campgrounds in the area.

Great spot very close to the south side of the Park. Nice to have the pool for an afternoon cool down as temps here now at 100 degrees. Facilities extremely well maintained and very pleasant/helpful staff!!

Closest park to Badlands that has any shade. Professional staff with clean, well maintained facilities. Unfortunately we got stuck in a pull through site too close to the septic—unpleasant odors. Would be great with a site farther back.

The campground was nice, clean and quiet. Campground WIFI was excellent, we were able to work and stream over the internet here.
Cell service is spotty. With our Tmobile phones we had to use WIFI calling because the service wasn't strong enough to even make a call without WIFI.

This is our second time to this campground and it's a nice location near the Badlands NP with lots of sites and amenities. We chose the back-in sites along the river and while you can't see the water there are big trees and lots of grassy space. We couldn't get the Wi-Fi in this area of the campground but Verizon service was decent. Bathrooms were clean and they had a little dining space with breakfast and dinner available. There is a short trail that goes around the campground on the levee. And if you walk just down the road a bit to the bridge over the river there are hundreds of swallows flying above the river and into mud houses under the bridge. Quiet at night and we heard an owl and coyotes. Easy access to I-90 though you have to go through the park if you're heading east.

August 2021. We checked in an hour early and were charged an early check-in fee of $5 and the site had some trash in it that I cleared but the park itself wasn't packed. The people running the place seemed attentive but the weather was absolutely horrible and a large branch from a tree went down as well as a few smaller ones during a bad windstorm. We kept getting weather warnings throughout the afternoon. What was nice was that the weather cooled the temps down a bit. The power stayed on through the storm which was also good. Didn't use any of their facilities. Pretty much stayed here due to its location to Badlands. Seemed a bit pricey for what you get but it also seems that koa is like that. However, I've been surprised at a few koas but not this one. Just a place to stay.
