We turned east off the paved access road and found a sandy campsite directly east of a large rock outcrop that was far enough from the highway to eliminate road noise. The dirt road in was a little bumpy, but the site was amazingly level, so we used neither leveling blocks nor the stabilizers. There was a group of campers on the other side of the outcrop, but we could not see or hear them from our site. We arrived after 3:00 pm and there were only a couple of other campers in view. But by 5-6 pm, several more had arrived. However, no one camped near us; our only close neighbors were cow-calf pairs. So, we did have to be careful where we stepped!

Decent cell service with booster Verizon 20dl/.7up T-Mobile 15 dl/.7up, propane fill at VP Racing in Bend. Water fill at the Chevron. It’s super quiet besides trucks coming through to load up and transport dirt all day. Lots of hiking trails, everything you’d want in dispersed camping. 17 miles from town. I’ve stayed here before and would definitely come back, it’s a great go to for exploring Bend/Sisters.

This place is as good as what is described by other reviewers except cell reception is poor. Reception is poor with download speeds at 2.46 Mbps with frequent periods of no connection at all. One to two bars at best.

This BLM land is clearly marked on the main highway and you can access numerous spots immediately. I arrived after dark and had no problem finding a spot. I only saw two other cars. Dirt road buy very smooth and navigable.

Several trailheads are nearby.
Very quiet, when I was here I only had one other RV in this area.
Come in on Hiway 20. Then gravel roads for less than 1/2 mile.
Some shade if you want, I have solar so I did not use any shade.

Nice place to boondock. We stayed at the gravel area. There were other campers but still seemed private.
It was a nice break for our dogs and a little more area to explore.
Another plus was that we got many air tv channels and the pictures were very clear!!
Would definitely stop here again after a long drive.

There is nothing past the Badlands Rock Tailhead and you will run into a private road with signs posted to turn around. There are no services anywhere nearby. We had to go into Bend for water. Overall, we enjoyed this quiet location a few miles east of Bend. We were able to get good cell service to stream TV and use the computer with both T-Mobile and AT&T.

We stopped here overnight while passing through Bend and stayed on a Saturday night. The graveled area is large, but not very private. Behind one one of the mounds though, were several smaller roads, which you could park in. No fire rings or other amenities, just a place to pull your rig over for a night. Road noise wasn't really perceptible within our rig.
The one negative of this spot was that it was clear that other campers didn't take terrific care of it. Buckets, animal bones and other debris were found throughout the campsite. Would and probably will stay at again.

We didn't have a problem finding our site. The road is nice, we just went straight past the gravel piles and took a right off the main road. This was a quiet site but very dirty. There was the trail head down the dirt road, but we explored the road our site was on.
