“Unofficial camping at Badger Springs trailhead ”

Reviewed Feb 26, 2015

Overall Rating

Right off Interstate-17 (exit 256) is one of two entrances to Agua Fria National Monument. Badger Springs Rd is nothing more than a dirt road that brings you into the border of the monument about 1 mile.

There is a large parking area to access the National Monument trail, but just a little further up the dirt road is some space large enough to camp as well. There are vault toilets at the beginning of the road and the trail is certainly worth your time. You can expect some traffic as people come and go for the hike, but it was quiet nonetheless.
