Close to everything we wanted to see in the area. Nice Laundry Room, Showers, Restrooms. Quiet. Our site had a fire ring and picnic table overlooking the smaller pond. Mostly shaded site. Recommend. Sue-Meg State Park is in walking distance.

Excellent location within walking distance of Sue-meg State Park. Small and sort of an intimate feel. Very quiet. Friendly, competent people running the place. Clean restrooms and showers. Our site had a nice wooden deck overlooking a pond. Possibly the nicest campsite we’ve ever stayed in.

We booked for the month of November 2021. Great little park but had no idea how humid this place was, we had mold everywhere and had mechanical problems when we tried to leave. Summer months must be much better. The back sites are right up against the woods and our site was large enough to sit outside and enjoy ourselves. Park was quiet, neighbors friendly, gals in the office were a hit and miss. Laundry was decent. Right next to the state park which has some amazing views and close enough to the Redwoods to see several areas. Eureka was a little disappointing but hey it had a Costco. Trinidad was cute and the lighthouse trail was fun. Our biggest issue was the SPEED BUMPS, they were huge which for trucks and trailers is a big issue and there are LOTS of them. Fewer and smaller would do the trick if they had issues, these were a daily gripe as we came and went.

If this is a destination spot for you, definitely hold out for a pond site (2-7). Otherwise you will just spend the whole time envious of those who are in one as they truly are special with decks overlooking a large lily pond equipped with Adirondack chairs, table and fire pit. We stayed in site 8, which has a small peak of the pond if you get on your tippy toes, but we will avoid in the future as it is across from the laundry/utility building and a street light, all of which are on all night and shine directly in the trailer. The middle sites sit higher, are pull throughs and quite large. I would avoid the sites along the back side as they back up to highway 101 and could be noisy. Also, there are several full time trailers here and most are situated there. There is a coin-op laundry that is extremely clean with two washers and two dryers, although they are older and quite rusty but get the job done. Two designated areas for dogs on each end of the campground. One for dog business only and the other near the entrance with a small but pretty fenced in yard. The grounds are gorgeous and lush with plant life and quiet places are provided for sitting across from the pond. If large groups and playing The Eagles for all the campground to hear is your thing, this is not the place for you. The quiet times from 9-9 are strictly enforced and barking dogs and rowdy people will be asked to leave, which is fine by us. The staff are very efficient and kind. The location can not be beat for a visit to this area and we will definitely return and will book well in advance to secure a pond site.

Beautiful pond on site. Super clean laundry room.
The WiFi is very poor and although I only have 2 bars on Verizon LTE I was able to access internet and upload photos.
LOVE IT!

We stayed in #13, which was perfectly level and quiet (at the end of a row of sites). There was some noise from the 101 highway, but not enough to bother us.This is not really a camp area for children, although there is a swing set. The sites and drive are gravel & most residents appear to be quiet, long term people.
Overall, we would stay again, mainly for the setting and the nearby redwoods.
