Aux Arc was an excellent nightly stop over along I-40--we only stayed two nights because of the weekend minimum. Overall you cannot beat the price, $18 a night for electric/water, a spacious and level sight, and shade. There is a nice playground on the B/D loop (actually a spur), and some of the waterfront sites are especially roomy.
A couple of cautions...
Some of the B sites are sort of Y shaped, with two sites meeting at the road with a common entrance. They would work well for folks camping together, but are a bit cramped otherwise.
Some of the sites at the end of the spur were a bit run down, A1-A4.
The F sites have less shade, but covered tables.
Trains run along the other side of the river, several times a day, expect some train noise, horns and rumbles.
The speed limit in the part is not enforced and there is a lot of pretty quick traffic, despite the very agressive speed bumps.
Finding the A,B,D, and F sites can be tricky, keep going down the hill to the Power Switch Yard, the road does go left and on out to these sites.

“Bad for dogs!”
Reviewed 2/18/2022
Booked 3 nights - left after 30 min
Dog got 6 goat head thorns in her paws within 10 min of walking. They were even at the campsite. Not pleasant for walking around.
Friendly people! Hosts stopped by to say hello.

We got in about 2:45 PM and the check in office was closed. Based on our confirmation email, we started to head towards our site just as one of the park hosts was driving by and she said to just go to our site and check in later. We went to back-in site 11, which is a river view with 50/30 AMP with water. There is no sewer here but you can use a hose connection to let your grey water drain on the ground. This site was the same one we had two years ago on almost the same date as we again headed south for our annual RV maintenance. We love Aux Arc’s ambience along the river. We didn't mind the dam alarms, work going on (interesting to watch), and even the trains that periodically rumble by throughout the day and night. But if you don’t like this type of noise, you are better off in the older B & D areas farther up river from the dam. B & D sites are actually in the same area with B sites on the river side and D sites across the road with a lot of tree cover. The C area is down river in a separate area on the other side of the dam. A sites are on the other side of B & D near the boat launch. As the norm with COEs, the water pressure was very good so you'll need a reducer. We did not get any OTA channels but received 3 bars on Verizon. In the F area there are not many trees so we had a clear shot to the southern sky for satellite. Sites in all areas are well spaced apart. There is a dump station located in the middle of the main CG and another outside the gate. The town of Ozark has your main ammenties to include a Walmart.

Saturday I did a road trip to Mount Nebo for some Mountain Biking on some amazing trails. I recommend Miller's Goat trail. Yhen stopped at an abby/brewery for some monk made beer. I also recommend Arkansas Brewing Company in Ozark, AR for food and beer just across the river. Mount Magazine the highest point in Arkansas is also close.
There are trains that run on the other side of the river but that didn't bother me.

There's a Hydro station at the entrance, so I booked a site on the other end of the campground; we didn't hear the station at all. There are pretty constant trains running on the opposite side of the river, but the low rumble didn't disturb us at all.
Pretty busy place, but quiet overall. Sites have huge space between them.
Easy access to a small WalMart, grocery store, and gas stations just across the bridge.
We loved our 3 nights here!

Spending 6 nights. Little hard to find using GPS. But definitely worth looking for. Riverside site was level, clean, shaded with 50amp and water. Great cell coverage with Verizon winning with 150m down and 43meg up. ATT, t-mobile and Visible all doing 50m down and varying 15 to 40 up. Cricket even did 7 down and 3 up

We had a lot of space, a fire ring with wood left from the last folks, little round table for drinks and a picnic table. It was very quiet during our stay except of course the noisy trains coming through on the opposite side of the river. We normally get irritated with train noise but for some reason it didn’t bother us. There is a boat ramp for those with boats. Only con: Dump station was dirty with spills not cleaned up and poor hose connection.

Aux Arc Campground is a good 1-2 night location. Campsites are spacious and easy to access. Electric and water at the site - dump station available on the way out. Many of the sites have covered picnic areas that would come in handy in the heat of the season. We camped at Aux Arc with our 31' 5th wheel at site F1 alongside the Arkansas river in September 2020. Aux Arc is a COE property built alongside a hydroelectric dam and lock. That being said, there is not much to do at or near this campground if you are looking for activity, except fishing (not familiar with how good fishing is). There are frequent trains across the river that are fairly noisy but we actually got used to them. There seem to be a fair number of locals using this facility. I would say this is a good overnight or two night stop - the town of Ozark is right nearby and you can restock on food, do laundry and catch a bite to eat in town (we had some pretty good BBQ from Rivertowne BBQ). Our rating is heavily influenced by the lack of hiking and activities.
