“Quiet, Relaxing sites in State Forest ”

We booked here because we could bring our dog. Staff was very nice but glad we called ahead since they didn't have ice despite what was said on the CT DEEP site. Sites are spaced out and large in size. Bathrooms were clean for camping and the shower rooms were clean as well. Please note: there are active black bears in Connecticut and caution should be taken and food, trash cared for.
Very quiet at night but there is road noise during daylight and early evening in the sites near the road. Access to the river is very limited so you need to get there early to fish or be willing to drive to another location if taken.
Overall experience was very good for older kids since there isn't a ton to do. But if you're looking to relax, read and play games this is a great location.
gibby_wheelgun would stay here again
