Very nice clean Campground. I’ve been on the road camping in CO FS Campground for 8wks. This is by far the most expensive at $29/night. It’s very nice, but other very nice ones are around $22/night.

Beautiful setting on the Conejos River and excellent camp hosts, Bill and Deb. Cancelled a
trip to ID and stayed in this area instead because of this campground and hosts. Very clean.

No cell service but you can drive to Antonito to get reception. The sites were clean. We were there during a mosquito hatch and that wasn’t fun but it’s not always like that. All depends on the time if the year and the amount of rain the area gets. There are some great hikes just a drive away. Fishing in the area is great with plenty of public access. I strongly recommend to book a fly fishing guide at the Conejos River Angler to maximize your fly fishing experience.

Heavily shaded sites in Loop C along the Conejos River, a very peaceful and positive camping experience. The vault toilets were very clean, water was available, table and fire ring at each site. The Camp Hosts were exceptionally great. Loop A has smaller sites mostly for tents, Loop B is more open and accomodates large rigs, while Loop C does accomodate large rigs, it is heavily forrested and the camp sites are well spaced apart. Overall a very enjoyable camping experience, we look forward to returning again.

We thought this was a great National Forest C.G. This was our first time to the Conejos River Valley. We were looking to expand our horizons and check out southern Colorado.
Sites are well spaced. The lower loop along he river provides more shade if going in the summer. Upper loop is more open to the sun.
Our site was easy to back in our 19' trailer. It provided plenty of privacy.
The campground host were very attentive. The restrooms may have been the cleanest vault toilets we have ever seen.
After booking this site, we learned of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. We booked a ride on the train out of Antonito. One of the most scenic train rides you will ever witness.
Only negative, and this not the fault of the hosts or the National Forest, the few campers that most use a generator. Do you really need to watch TV and use a micro-wave?

We were there mid June and the weather was almost perfect. We had a few sprinkles during the day on 2 days, but after that mostly sunny days and clear nights.
Bathrooms (vault toilets) were clean and water was available in several spots on Loop C. Campground was quiet during the week. Wood was available for purchase at the camp host site.
The surrounding area, west of Antonito, is beautiful with many aspen trees.

First time here, didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Our site was nice, plenty of shade and quiet. Viewed birds, humming birds and squirrels running around. Would definitely come back, I like the fact of being able to reserve on line.

The Conejos River Valley is a really lovely stretch of Colorado, and there are some awesome campgrounds in the area. Unfortunately, Aspen Glade is a bit of a mixed bag.
There are three loops to the campground - A, B, and C - and there is a big difference between site quality in the different loops. Loop A, which is where we ended up staying for one night, has just a few spots, all of which are visible from the highway, have limited space/shade/privacy, and are mostly overgrown. Because of the overgrowth & ground condition, some of the sites that are listed as being large enough to accommodate bigger rigs wouldn't actually be up to the task.
Loop B is in better shape, as it looks like each site has been given some more recent TLC. The spots are more level, cleared, and some even seemed to have fresh gravel laid down. A lot of these spaces don't offer much in the way of shade or privacy so you'll definitely be seeing your neighbors.
Now, for something completely different - let's talk about Loop C. This is the only area of the campground with direct river access, and each of the sites is tucked in among the pines, offering plenty of shade and privacy. The fact that it's MUCH nicer than the rest of the campground probably explains why it was booked solid well in advance.
One other thing to note about Loop C is that it's down a short but steep hill from the rest of the campground - meaning if you stay in loops A or B, you'll have to trek up and down every time you want to visit the Conejos.
For any full-timers working from the road: all Verizon coverage completely dies just a few miles from Mogote, CO, so be sure to plan in advance.
All in all, this place is...fine. It's not the best camping experience, but it's an alright base camp to get deeper into the mountains, while still being relatively close to Antonito.
