Overview of Ash Grove Mountain Cabins & Camping
NOTE the following maximum vehicle lengths: 32ft. 5th-wheel or motorhome; 28ft. pull-behind trailer. When towing a trailer longer than 25ft. in the mountains, a 4-wheel drive vehicle is HIGHLY recommended--mountain roads' steep hills and curves can be slippery when wet. Make sure your vehicle is strong enough to pull your rig.

Met the new owner and Ash Grove continues in the spirit of the previous owners. Friendly and helpful we were guided to RV site 4, a pull through site that could handle our 25’ trailer. We brought our Aframe camper for a weekend. We love the Brevard area for outdoor activities.Based on their website and information this sounded like a quiet place that the owners put a lot of time and effort into. And that is exactly the experience that we got. The owners met us, got us into our site and we saw them do the same for everyone else.
The bathhouse was exceptionally clean as was the entire place.
I would have to say the only downside is that a larger rig probably would struggle getting into most spots. If this is you, call in and talk to them at length first.
They have nice cabins and really neat walk in tent camping that feels very remote.
I have never been to a nicer privately owned campground.
The whimsical site and cabin naming adds to the fun.

Ash Grove is an absolutely beautiful mountain campsite and rental cabin destination. The owners are the hardest working folks I have ever seen. I was exhausted watching them help people get settled, emptying recyclables, cleaning, and trimming trees. You can tell they love the place and it shows. I highly recommend the experience. You will love the trails for hiking and the limited disturbance they have with their campsite footprints. Beautiful maples, fern beds, and a delightful waterfall at the end of one of the trails. Whitetail deer, chipmunks, and the famous Brevard white squirrels (along with lots of brown ones) were observed from the camper and trails. Many birds including a delightful murder of crows that passes through a couple of times each day.
I have stayed at Forest Service campgrounds on Highway 276 and this one, being off the main highway, has less traffic noise, especially once the times to go and come from work have passed. The showers are hot and the bath house immaculate. They have on-site wood for cozy campfires and a nearby store for those items you forgot to bring. When I’m in the area, I’ll be staying at this campground!

Cozy hilltop campground near Cedar Mountain NC. Have stayed in both the cabins and this time brought our 19’ Airstream. It’s wooded and good amount of privacy. RV spots are back in and I would bring anything big here as it’s on a mountain top and tight to get into. Water and electric, no sewer hookups but they do have a dump station. Our hosts were very nice and accommodating. They helped us to find our spot and get backed in which we appreciated. We come here to go mountain biking at nearby DuPont. It’s dog friendly here and we enjoyed the hiking trails on property. There is no cell phone coverage but the WiFi is pretty good.
