The town has a Lyceum theater that puts on some first-rate productions with actors from all over the USA. Check out the schedule for the Lyceum at https://lyceumtheatre.org/. There are also many small shops and eating locations in the small town. Being a historic site you will want to spend some time exploring the town. Next to the Missouri River, where the Sante Fe Trail crossed. Use this link to see what is happening in the town https://arrowrock.org/.
We live fairly close to the campground and usually camp there once or twice a year when we want to get away from the city life.

I could not make online and phone reservations as all of the sites appear blocked during the off season. So, this was a first-come, first-served experience. We arrived on a Thursday night and there were only two other campers in the entire park. We found a site easily, filled out the information on the pay envelope, included a check, and dropped it into the iron ranger. Easy.
The sites had electric, but all of the water was turned off so hydrants around the park and the shower-house were not available. A vault toilet near the host site was open. Firewood was not available for sale.
The weather was perfect, clear, gentle winds, highs in the 60s and lows in the mid 30s. This trip was near the peak of the leaf color change and the park was especially beautiful. Other campers arrived over the weekend, but we didn't see more than 8 or 9 other campers during the stay.
Connectivity - we work from the road so connectivity is important to us. On our first trip to Arrow Rock earlier this year, we relied on a Verizon 4g JetPack for our primary connection and our cell phones as back up hotspots. This park is right at the edge of cell service for two towers and connectivity was so poor, it was virtually non-existent and our trip ended early. This time, we arrived with a Cradlepoint IBR900 and an unlimited, unthrottled ATT 4g plan through Bix Wireless. Connectivity was rock solid so we were able to access work networks, make and receive calls through Skype and Teams, and chat with no issues.
The Verizon JetPack we use for back up had no connectivity on this trip. Our Cradlepoint had 4 bars. Our ATT cellphones had zero to 1 bar.
Arrow Rock is our favorite get-a-way and now that we have the Cradlepoint, we will visit more often.

There's one local restaurant within 5mi, the rest are within 20mi.
There is no sewer or water at the individual sites but hookups at the entrance. Rick, the camp host, was amazing helpful and friendly. I was confused at the configuration of the sites and spent 30min trying to backout and get resituated so make sure you research the layout.
My wife and I loved the stars at night
My in-laws enjoyed the quiet
My son loved the playground and all the dogs he could pet from the other campers.
Would 300% go back but maybe without children

Hot water in the shower. Clean bathrooms. Shaded sites. Hiking trails. You can walk thru a cute historic town with so much history. A plus is that they have internet also. Loved it. I would stay here again.

This is a great little gem that is worth the 15-minute drive from I-70, especially for anyone who wants affordable 50-amp service in the middle of Missouri.
The road into the area off the highway is quite narrow and could be a bit scary for those not accustomed to driving wide vehicles on narrow roads.
The campground comprises three loops - a primitive loop primarily for tent camping, a basic electric loop with 30 amp service and a third loop with 50 amp service. There is only one site (besides the camp host site) with full hook-ups. All other sites are electrical only, though there are water pedestals scattered around as well as at the dump station.
There is a convenient and functional dump station near the campground entrance and a bathhouse that is clean and in good condition.
This is a heavily treed area, so the majority of sites have decent shade, especially in the afternoon. Site size and length vary and not all are suitable for big rigs. The pad length description for each site on the Missouri reservation site seems pretty accurate.
Cellular internet access is spotty, with weak coverage on AT&T and Verizon. Getting a decent signal will depend on your gear and site location. We got workable signal for basic tasks using an AT&T nighhawk mobile hotspot and netgear antenna. For voice calls, I had to walk up near the bathhouse, which is higher elevation.
There is free unsecured Wi-Fi at the park which doesn't adequately reach the sites near the bottom of the hill (38, 39, 40) - a Wi-Fi booster may help here. The speeds were about 9Mbps during the day, but were considerably slower bordering on usable in the evenings with the campground about 3/4 full.
This campground is part of the Arrow Rock Historic Site which was the original beginning of the Santa Fe trail. There is a fishing pond, a loop trail, a historic town with historic buildings, and a very nice and informative visitor center and museum.
Overall, this was a great break from the heat and drudgery of I-70.

This MO state park is about 15 miles off of I 70. Rolling corn fields and wooded areas surround it for many miles. There were not too many campers here during the week. The historic town of Arrow Rock does not really open until Memorial Day, so we were a week too soon! The same is true for the other little towns cited by the tourism manual. But they were cute for a drive through. There is a lot of Lewis and Clark history along the MO river, and it is very interesting. The park is pretty remote in that you have to drive about 15 miles minimum to find groceries, and the cell coverage is spotty. They may have WIFI here, but we don't generally use open lines. We are fully self contained, but the bath houses looked clean.

Really nice park, quiet. When we where there seemed like mostly retired which was OK. Clean bathrooms. We did not stay long enough to scout out hike, didn't seem like there were trails. Grass at the campsites. Right off I70.
