“Camp at own risk”

Reviewed Mar 11, 2018

Overall Rating

We have stayed here 2 other times with no major problems. There was lots of broken glass and gunshots during the day. This time, everything was great. We had a perfect spot with a great view. There were gunshots throughout the day and even early morning and late night. A couple of times we had vehicles slow down and drive by slow... more

“Lots of shooting noise and partying”

Reviewed Jun 02, 2017

Overall Rating

We had a terrible experience here. While there is one nice site, the rest are pretty bad so it's a gamble whether you get in. Lots of litter and broken glass in the area, and there was shooting LATE into the night right outside the good campsite almost every night. It also seemed to be a popular party spot for kids on the weekend, ther... more

“Very Disappointed”

Reviewed May 23, 2017

Overall Rating

My primary and secondary campsites didn't pan out and it was getting late. So I drove the extra 30 miles to stay here for the night and move on to the next campsite. I was not able to find the road into the area from 177, so I drove back to 60 and drove in that way. I have a small 10' cargo trailer conversion, and while I made it th... more

“Great little camping area!”

Reviewed Mar 08, 2017

Overall Rating

This was the only dry camping spot that was recommended for trailers over 35 feet in the area! because of the other reviews I came in off the 177. There was a little dip coming down the hill that my weight distribution hitch dragged on. I went in about 1/2 mile from the dip and found a nice little spot on the left that went back a w... more

“Watch out if you have a low clearance hitch or distribution bar like I do, only if you come in wrong...”

This place is very serene. You do tend to feel like you are completely alone aside from the highway I can see and hear from my spot. I am staying in the exact coordinates that The_Write_road stayed at. However, the difference is this: Google tried to route me into Arnett Rd from off of Hwy 60. Um, this route is not cool if you have... more

“Pristine and Quiet”

Reviewed Mar 13, 2016

This is what "boondocking" is all about. Nestled between views of Apache Leap and Picket Post Mountain, this seldom used National Forest land is perfect for those wanting to experience nature at its finest. We set up camp in a sweet little loop with a nice sized Palo Verde tree in the center. I was mesmerized by how the sun played acr... more
