This campsite was so nice! It is a little off the highway, enough to be quiet except for an occasional train. The sites are large with newly paved concrete for rvs. The playground, shower house and amenities looked relatively new and they had free firewood for those staying. It was such a great price for a wonderfully maintained park.

This is one of the coolest places we have stayed and we had the entire place all to ourselves. If you have a big rig, over 30 feet or so, you’ll want space number A3. If your rig is tall you may have to back it out but we had no trouble doing that with our 43 foot 5th wheel. I’ll post pictures of the place.

Wow what a hidden gem in Liberal Kansas! We needed an overnight spot; something quick and easy. Well they have online registration/reservation which is wonderful!!! Several of the spots have concrete pads, 30/50 amps, and covered picnic areas at the spots. They have a shower house but is pretty primitive. They have a wonderful playground and several swings. They have wood racks with free wood to use throughout the park. Several dumpsters for all the spots. Also about a handful of tornado shelters which is wonderful for that area. The grounds are watered, have plants, and our clean. Very kept up grounds; camp host is doing a great job! There is a train that goes by but we didn’t hear it while we slept. I uploaded a video so you could hear the level of noise on that. There is also several large firepit areas, sand volleyball court, walking trails, and horseshoes. We will for sure be back to this gem! There is a dump station because there are no full hookups. We stayed at A5 and loved that spot would for sure come back. The road off the main road to the park is close to three miles it seems like a long way and it’s a gravel road. Make sure you get there BEFORE 10pm. There is a gate and they lock it and you are locked in until 7am. They have wifi but it kicks you off so don’t expect internet. We have Verizon and had ZERO bars so we were off the grid.

After driving for hours through flat brown Kansas landscape this campground was a treat. Large cottonwood trees, green grass and lots of birds. Also mowed hiking trails. The $15 campground price includes on-site electric and water hook-ups, plus has showers, marginal Wi-Fi in some parts of the campground, and a dumpsite! Additional $2 service charge, totaling $17 plus tax, is still a deal. I camped previously in State and National Forest campgrounds that charge $10-14 (America the Beautiful 50% discount), plus $4 service charge, no hookups and an additional $7 dollar dump and fresh water fill fee, IF they even have one available.
There are concrete pads, as well as gravel and grass.
Did I mention the birds? I just saw four turkeys walked by! Oh, and a first for me, concrete tornado shelters throughout the campgrounds in case of an Oz event!
I took off stars for Access because Google maps is terrible and took me on a washboard dirt road. Later found out that it’s supposed to be graded once a week but hadn’t been.
Zero Verizon.

It was a surprise to see this campground, nestled in a cottonwood grove in prairie territory. Very nice sites. Concrete, level pads. I showed up on a Thursday expecting to find a site with no problem. The camp host asked me if I had a reservation, which surprised me and I told them I didn’t even know you could MAKE a reservation since I didn’t see that information on the city website or on Campendium. Still not sure what phone number you should call in order to accomplish that task. Only a handful of campers there but I was told it fills up on the weekend.
I didn’t check out the bathroom, it looked like there was maintenance being performed.
Free firewood at the site, a nice perk. GREAT birding!! NO Verizon service and the park wi-fi was inop. Storm shelters available – for those Dorothy moments.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It’s Cheap $15 +$5 for electric =$20 per night. We had a level site with partial shade a covered picnic table, fire pit and BBQ. They had free fire wood around the park. A Great playground! Less than ideal bath house, they work but a bit old and a lot of bugs. The trees and park setting along with nature trails were nice for walking the dog. I could do without the heat 100+ each day and the biting flies and other bugs. (I don’t hold this against the campground) it was very quiet, gate locked from 10pm to 7am. There is a 1/2 mile or so dirt road with another mile of paved road. We made it fine in our 36” class A. Wi-Fi wasn’t working but we had some AT&T service enough to text and talk.
