You can now make reservations! If you want to feel like you are alone but not be, #24 is for you. Site 24 is surrounded by red rocks hiding all the other campsites on a well-maintained dirt road. There is a little canyon behind the site with great rock scrambling opportunities, even a little arch rock. Site 22 is also nestled into the red rock, but campsite #23 is viewable right across the road. At dusk every night we had a herd of desert big horn sheep come through munching on shrubbery that grows along the road and campsites. There are no hookups in Arch Rock Campground, but a dump station is close by. We had no Verizon service in the campground or most of Valley of Fire state park. The visitor center is very informative and the only place you will find snacks and souvenirs as well as internet service. Atlatl Campground offers hookups, showers and Wi-Fi services for an extra fee. Valley of Fire State Park offers loads of hiking opportunities, and many are short easy trails. On these hikes you can view petroglyphs, petrified logs and unique rock formations. In the month of January our temperature was in the low 50’s Fahrenheit to low 30’s. Beware that in the summer months temperatures can be up to 120 Fahrenheit.

Better have a plan B and C. But if you time it right, really awesome campsites. $10, $15 for non-nevadians per night. Water at each site. Dump station near and the other campground has some full hook ups. . Big Horn sheep wander thur camp. Fire rings, + grills.

Small but very nice park. We got our class A in a beautiful spot and stayed for 4 days. Park was very clean, trash was picked up daily. No hook ups in this park but near by park has full hook ups. Perfect short hiking all over the park and dark skies at night. We camped at Arch Rock Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is nestled among the red sandstone formations of varying heights, with each rack face being its own beautiful sculpture. Everything appears well maintained, although I did not check out the vault toilets. I noticed the Ranger drive by periodically during my stay to check on bathrooms and waste bins. Mid-week in early January was not crowded and I had my pick of a number of spots, but lucked out in getting #24 which is very private and has its own backyard canyon. Campers who use solar to recharge should take site selection into account since many will have a lot of shade from the sandstone cliffs. I occasionally had 1 bar of unreliable and unstable signal with T-Mobile, but a few other areas of the park had better service.

March, 2021...This was our second time staying in this campground. We had no idea it had gotten this busy these last few years. Well now we know!
We dispersed right outside the west entrance and came in around 9:30 am to get a spot. When we saw # 2 vacant we just grabbed it and felt lucky.
There is a constant parade of cars and RV's ( going round and round the campground loops) looking for an empty spot starting around 7am and it only stops about dusk. People are getting so bold as to check your tag to see when your leaving and ask if they can put their tag under yours!...They even come right up to you asking when your leaving! When you're resting up from hiking or reading a book in your chair it is never peaceful here. We've never experienced anything like this in our decades of camping. This first come first serve is not working here anymore. After 3 days we couldn't wait to move on despite how we love Valley of Fire State Park.

This was a great camping spot to tour everything Valley of Fire has to offer. Superb location and clean site area. We arrived around 11am on a Friday and there were only two spots left in the entire park between Arch and Atlatl campsites during the first week of March. We 100% would have preferred to be in a less busy and more private area of the camp site but those spots were taken. However there are some really great and private areas that are available should we have arrived on a Thursday or earlier on a Friday.
The site was clean with clean restrooms and a camp host that was very active taking care of the busy site. No mater the the site you get, you'll be surrounded by awesome rock formations and awesome desert views. If we positioned our phones just right we'd receive minimal cell service and a very weak LTE with Verizon that would allow texts and emails to load periodically-- otherwise there was no service. Very dog friendly.
I would not pass up camping here if you're in the area.

VoF State Park is not an overly developed state park, which is great. The main drive through the park gets you to everything...the list is too long but the vistas are spectacular. Atlatl campground & Arch Rick campground are adjacent and share a water & dump station. The setting for Arch Rock CG is amazing. Most of the sites are tucked right under or between the red sandstone formations towering overhead. This is dry camping but many sites have a water supply nearby. Park entry is $10 but this applies to the $20 for overnight. Just note that on the payment envelope at the iron ranger - it's pretty well explained if you read the instructions on the bulletin board on the left. Sites 1-14 are on a loop. Sites 15-29 extend on a 1-way road between sites 6 &7 and are definitely worth checking out first. All sites are first come but I had no problem finding one on a Monday afternoon. Vault toilets, regular trash pickup, water and dump close by with spectacular scenery & hiking - it doesn't get much better. No AT&T but T-Mobile was fine with a booster.

We drove through Valley of Fire and decided to stay there in the campground. We drove through the Atlatl Rock Campground and decided we didn’t need RV hookups as we wanted more private camping... we went to the Arch Rock Campground and found a spot that was great! We just positioned our van so we didn’t see anyone! Dogs had to be on leashes but we took them on a lil nature walk away from the campground to Arch Rock and took photos. Great lil campground that only has 27 spots and only 10 dollars after you pay the 10 entry fee to the park.
