We spent 4 nights at the Arch Campground Loop of Kodachrome Basin State Park. This is our third time here, and we love the location; close enough to explore Bryce Canyon National Park, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Capitol Reef National Park, Red Canyon, Grovesnor Arch, among other destinations. The campground is typically quiet, it is clean, and well-maintained. The Arch loop has electric & water hook-ups, although it does only have vault toilets. We did, however, have access to the wonderful showers at the Basin campground loop in the park.
The night skies were absolutely amazing….great for star-gazing or just sitting around the campfire.
There is absolutely no cell service at this park, which is not necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion.

Almost hate to say anything about this area because I don’t really want to share it - it’s so nice. Please take care when you visit so it doesn’t get overrun like Zion.

A short walk up the hill is Bryce View campground and there is another campground a short drive into the park. Both had modern, clean (new?) bathrooms. Our site had electric hookups, a fire pit and picnic table. The park is really spectacular and a nice change from the crowds at the nearby national parks. There are plenty of hiking and mountain biking opportunities. Camped here in mid-April.

We scored a recently upgraded site in the Arch Campground. It was partial hookups with water and electricity. There is a dump station closer to the Basin Campground, which also has reservable full hook up sites. We liked the quiet and rustic feel here at Arch. If you need one, there is a laundry on the road up to Basin. The short road to Arch is maintained gravel. Access is not a problem.
It looks like they were upgrading several sites in Arch to partial hookups. The services were brand new, and the site showed signs of recent work. Leveling is possible but not a given. The fire pit was brand new. The view amazing.
There is plenty to do just out of the campground. You’ll find hiking and mountian biking on the nearby trails. A drive to Grosvenor Arch is a must. However Bryce National Park is only under an hour drive away.
Don’t plan on cell service (Verizon) even if boosted. Though there is serviceable WiFi at the visitors center.

The road is dirt but not too rough, the sites are gravel and pretty level. We had partial hookups with 30/50amp electric and water. The site was quite roomy with plenty of space between neighbors and Juniper trees blocking them from sight. Our site had plenty of shade, a nice picnic table and fire pit as well (firewood is for sale within the park). The bathrooms, campground and park in general were extremely clean and well maintained. We camped over over Easter Weekend. The weather was just right, low 60s during the day and low 40s at night. There is plenty of hiking available for all skill levels. We were able to find a few trails that my aging parents (using canes) could join us on. We had no cell phone or internet service within the park.
