Dump stations were large and easy to access. The mosquitos were worse than the gnats and the columns of midges along the causeway were astounding in numbers. But the wildlife... wow. Watching a herd of Bison crest a hill and charge down to the roadside was a sight we won't soon forget, burrowing owls, mule deer, pronghorn, birds, coyotes. We even had a coyote pup cross the road and stop to pose for pictures. Rangers were helpful, friendly. Sites were clean and well maintained. Not many state parks can compare to this one as far as value and location are concerned.

Sites are very nice and great view. I went when it was a bad time because the gnats just hatched but I didn't really notice them until I got to the top of Bison Peak. Camp Hosts' were really nice. The drive there across the bridge is beautiful too. There was a little beach grill near the visitor center. A great place!

The park was amazing. However the gnats are no joke. But we would come back again in the no gnat season. The bison were a treat.

We stumbled upon Antelope State park on our way back from California and what a pleasant surprise it was! They just finished a new campground with Water + Electric hookups for RV's, this isn't listed on their booking website but you can ask the ranger when you go through the entrance for a spot. (There was conflicting information online, even the Utah State Park SMS system representative said they didn't have it but I'm sitting here plugged in writing this). The park itself is beautiful and filled with a number of Bison who casually stroll through the campsite daily. I imagine the Bison would be even more plentiful if they weren't currently corralled for their annual checkup. Our Verizon phones supported video calls although the cell coverage was low, my T-Mobile hotspot had 4 bars and 60 up / 40 down so plenty of capability to stream, work and video call (I hosted multiple zoom meetings seamlessly here). I look forward to coming back in the future.

Heads and shoulders above the other two State Parks further north along the Great Salt Lake (and right next to I-15). Awesome shelter and aluminum picnic tables at each site. Sweeping views. Dump and freshwater available.
The only drawback is that the loops are one-way. Depending on whether you get a site on the left side or the right side of the road, your RV entrance and windows might be on the opposite side from the picnic table and view of the lake.
The mosquitoes are evil and seem to have a special blend of anesthetic to prevent your feeling their bites. Bring repellant.

It appears they are building a new area which will be full hook ups and seems nice. That said we had read reviews about the bugs and boy there were not kidding. Thousands of them and were all over. Because of the bugs there is no way my wife is willing to go again otherwise I though it was cool. We have att and had very limited cell.

This island is surrounded by the Great Salt Lake and is completely devoid of any development which gives it a very unique feeling. There are 2 RV campgrounds and 1 tent campground. They are building a full hookup site to be completed who-knows-when. We stayed at White Rock Campground which consists of only 8 sites (2 for equestrians) and really spaced apart. Fairly level. Vault toilets, Ramada with picnic table and fire pit. Lots of buffaloes and pronghorn antelope, the latter elusive. Plus the island is known for various bird sanctuaries. Lots of trails with stunning views plus a walk down to the lake itself. We didn’t have any bug problems (although this is the season for no-see ums) but we didn’t see um.😁

Paid for what the entrance gate said was the premium Sites but I think they have there priorities mixed up. The way I have to park Can’t run my generator or it will blow in my neighbors door. Called the front gate to see if we could move but was rudely told take it or leave it. Or pay 180.00 dollars for a group site. Not happy with this campground but have no choice as am heading back home to Alaska and must get a COVID test to cross Canadian border. Must give a 3 day in advance appointment for the test. Won’t come back this way next year.

No bugs when I was here. I arrived about 5:30 and they had two sites left I reserved, though more were actually open. The main thing for me was the great views. Lots of walking trails all around. Saw Buffalo and Pronghorns on my drive around. Very peaceful at night. I had 1-2 bars of Verizon the whole time and it was easy to sit in on a virtual conference I needed to attend for work in the morning but I wouldn’t have wanted to be running the meeting. Unique experience.

Headed up to Salt Lake City and on to Antelope Island State Park. Took I-15 most the way and I think it would have been a spectacular ride with the Wasatch mountains so close to road and hugging Salt Lake City itself, but the 9k ft to 11k ft peeks were being obscured by very low clouds and rain..but it was pretty cool nonetheless. Got to the causeway to enter the north end of the island and its a very straight, flat 7 mile shot. Nice ride with great views. The island itself has a very long and interesting history...if you come here, be sure to read up on it. But in summary is its got the oldest rocks in the US, oldest homestead in Utah, a historic ranch, was occupied by some of the earliest humans, home to one of the oldest and the largest Buffalo 🐃 heard in the United States (700), has antelopes, big horn sheep, bobcats, coyotes, 100s of bird species, mountain over 6,000 ft and many fresh water springs? Need more? Oh yeah, it's absolutely beautiful. Was very close to becoming a National Park, but ironically the actual Lake itself worked against it. At the time it was polluted and many politicians thought the lake wasn't good for anything but mining minerals from it. Anyway, staying at Bridger Bay campground, site 2, closest to the shore....which isn't that close (the lake level wildly fluctuats). Nice site, flat. Covered Picnic table, fire 🔥 ring and grill. No hookups. There is a separate tenting area and group campground. Showers and toilets 🚻 scattered in lots of places. Couple seasonal restaurants (not open now). Equestrian folks are welcome and they have sites to accommodate horses (didn't see them but read it somewhere). Tons of hiking trails, bike rentals and they also have a marina if you want to bring your boat (no fish in the lake, but I understand duck hunting in a big deal here). Dumpsters in multiple locations. They have a very clean looking dump station too. No potable water. Internet is painfully slow.. VZW and ATT 1 bar LTE. ATT pops up to 2 sometimes and is a little faster. If you have anything important to do online....get it done b4 you come here. No TV signal. Maybe higher the spots are better. Campground is set up nice and spots are spread out. They are currently building another campground above this one. I saw them laying conduit or pipe in the ground, so maybe it will have full hookups when complete. 20 bucks for the night. Park is not busy at all. I was able to pretty much just park in the road and get pics of the mountains and Buffalo . They are all over the place! Saw a big pile of scat on the road in this campground...so they must graze on through here. Saw a ring neck pheasant too...but I was too slow with my camera. Lots to see and do here. No bugs at this time either, which people have said is a huge problem at times. With my crappy start today....with nothing working (everything works fine now BTW and I did absolutely nothing), I almost didn't come here, and that would have been the biggest mistake of all. Skip the gridlock of Moab and check this place out, you'll thank me later.
