Staying here allowed us to be at the park in 10 minutes from when we left. There are about 5 spots down the hill as well on the river for tents or a camper van. If you have a travel trailer or anything larger I recommend staying on the pavement.

Has so much fun sledding here and then having a fire in the warming hit. Slept in the parking lot bc the camp spots were inaccessible, but still great!

I car camped here for two nights in my Subaru Crosstrek micro-camper, and trailered my motorcycle behind me for rides up to Crater Lake at sunrise and sunset. There are four camping sites with fire rings by the creek down a short dirt ramp on the far side of the asphalt slab, and I camped at one of them. The only other camper was at a site next to mine, but separated from me by a thick stand of Douglas Fir trees. I never heard a peep from him, and the burbling of the creek masked the low noise from Highway 62. It’s a little slice of heaven down there, and I’ll be back for a longer stay next time.

Good clearance on the dirt road though. Great spot only a half hour from Crater Lake

Biggest complaint was that one of the RVs there started up a generator at 10:30pm and it ran until 3am, making it nearly impossible to sleep.
Super close to the south entrance of Crater Lake which made for an easy drive the next AM.

The bathrooms were clean for being vault toilets. I didn't go down the dirt road. The parking lot is a decent size. The toilets are near the enterance. At the end of the parking lot there was a few fire pits and the snow shelter. The snow shelter was awesome! There was wood and the stove was ready to roll. I dont believe there was any water, so come prepared. I have ATT and was able get reception. I would definitely sleep here again.... for free.

Nice parking lot right outside of Crater Lake National Park. Stayed 2 nights. Felt safe. There were 2 Class A's in the parking lot that ran generators all night long.

We arrived on a Friday and upon investigating the dirt path (on the right) that goes down toward to creek, we decided to park on the concrete slab. There were spots down by the creek and It would have been doable, but the hill down had a bit of water erosion ruts that would not have been good for our house. We parked on the concrete near a fire pit/grill and closest to the trees. Where we parked we had great sun from 10:00am till about 5:00 due to the trees. The days there were quiet, but MANY campers showed up late, some showing up past midnight and immediately starting generators and or bonfires. A few nights there we were woken up in the middle of the night by people parking within ten feet of our home. I guess you’ll have that at a free lot. Bathrooms were cleanish and the snow mobile shelter had a few electrical outlets. We explored the trails and fire roads for walking the dogs and the crowning jewel of this place is the proximity to Crater Lake. We found out the hard way the nearest diesel fill up to this spot is the at the casino we passed on the way there 17 miles away. Freshwater fill up is in Crater Lake at the campground on the right directly after entering the park.
