Angel Valley Rd., also known as road 89B, is located approximately 11 miles SW of Sedona off of 89A. The road in is nicely graded gravel and there is a large parking area close to 89A with room for larger rigs. There is a major trailhead here with vault toilets. There are other dispersed camping sites farther in on 89B and we stayed in one that had a great view of Cathedral Rock and other major rock formations. Unfortunately this was the best part of camping here. We were here at the end of October and the dust and goatheads (very tough, spiny, painful to step on, seed pods) were out of control. You couldn't take a step outside the trailer without getting a shoe full and this would NOT be a good site if you had dogs. During the day there was traffic coming and going from Angel Valley Retreat at the end of the road which added to the dust problem, but when there was no traffic it was very quiet. We also had hot air balloons in the morning which was nice but there were sightseeing planes and helicopters viewing the red rocks of Sedona. The campsite was mostly level which was also a plus. We have a 27 ft. travel trailer and the site had room to turn but we were the only ones there at the time, it would be too crowded with other trailers there. Cell service and internet were fine with Verizon.
Denise K. would stay here again
