Access was pretty easy, a few potholes on the road in but all but the very last mile is paved. Sites on the outside are relatively private, those one the inside of the ring are not

Angel of Shavano is one of our favorite campgrounds. Sites are fairly private, each site has a fire ring, picnic table and tent pad. Not many sites will accommodate large RVs, no hooks up, but they do have water available and pit toilets. Camp Host was very nice and kept everything clean. Looking forward to our next visit! We stayed here on Father’s Day 2021. This was our first experience dry camping and based on this we would do it again for short stays. Our site backed up to a small creek that was fun for the kids to play in. Our site was surrounded by wild roses and wild strawberry plants. We were directly across from the pit toilet. They had a marked path to cut between two sites. The women’s restroom lock was broken so don’t had created an empty/in use sign to hang on the door. Only one camper we encountered couldn’t figure this out and walked in on someone. We saw a young male mule deer in the campground. They had nice fresh gravel tent pads. Not sure a big rig would fit in this campground. I saw at least one pull through type site but most campers were in tents. Lots of spots vacant on a Sunday evening. No service for T-Mobile mostly except for one random time I got service while my phone was sitting in my chair.
