Spots are a little packed in closer than I would like. But still all gorgeous well done. Beautiful beautiful park on a beautiful beach. The staff is amazing & helpful and you’re super close to down town Saint Augustine. Must stay.

Great park just outside the city. Mostly quiet during our stays. We have had good sites every time we have come. Hot showers. Nice beach. Osprey Tacos just outside the park has great food. Room to explore. Great stop for work and play. We have only been during the winter season.

Fairly level packed sand with 30/20 amp power and water. Sites were overgrown with little or no area around the sites. The park has canoe/kayak rentals and nice beach access with a gift shop and snack bar. Be aware, the beach is not pet friendly so don't expect to take your furkids for a romp, however St. Augustine beach is about 15 minutes away and is pet friendly.

Really enjoyed our stay here (girlfriend and I). We loved how many of the campsites have a tree canopy overhang providing shade and a more natural setting. The park is also clean and well maintained.

We were very pleased with our site and the cleanliness of not only the Park, but the restrooms as well. We had made a trip to the Park the week before (as is our custom) to find our spot, get the lay of the land, find the restrooms and just get familiar. So glad we did, it helped us to be prepared for what to bring and what not to bring. We had a small site this time, designed for Tent Only, but since we have a popup camper, we fit in just nicely. We did leave a few of our "toys" at home since we had a smaller site. Given that, we had a fabulous time, walked around and scoped out other sites that we will try to get on our next trip. Yep, we will definitely be coming back to Anastasia again many time.
The Park is close to town, so getting out for dinner or that item you forgot is very easy. There is plenty to do if you like to hike, do water sports, or just lay out by the beach. So much so, that we will need a couple more visits to do them all.
Our favorite thing about this location is how close to home it is for us (Jacksonville), yet how secluded the park feels. It is about 3-5 mile drive from the gate to the campground, so get the feeling you are out in the woods, but you are so close to town. We just sat back and relaxed and enjoyed our stay!!!
Surprise of the Trip: I was not expecting to have cellular service at the Campsite, but I did, generally 3 bars, so I was able to use my phone as a hot spot and get some work done while the wife slept. I was thinking I would have to drive into town for good reception (I did have to work). This is a great benefit for us and secures that we will be coming back again!!!!

Stayed 2 nights. Very clean, friendly staff, great sites. I came with no reservation early in the morning and was put on a waiting list. I was lucky and had a spot at 1pm. This was a pleasant surprise on my unplanned trip through Florida. I have a self converted ram ProMaster van. I used the 20 amp service. There was also a 30.

We only booked a few days ahead of our trip as we were passing through, but this park seems to fill up quickly! Our only downside was the beach at the state park did not allow dogs, so we had to take a short drive to St Augustine beach to be able to keep our dog with us. Other than that - it was a perfect!

We read the reviews and agree completely. Great staff, beautiful natural settings, clean facilities, hot showers, close to town and lends to a friendly and safe stay.
It was NewYear's Eve and, by luck, we got an opening for our 19 foot van. The hookups are basic electric and city water spigot. The spots for larger RVs abound and each campsite is surrounded by natural tree canopies - just enough privacy for an overnight or longer. Book early - it's always full....if you drive in after 1pm, there might be a lucky cancellation.
Very subtlety, it provides several playgrounds for kids, nature trails for walkers and dogs, wide open oceanfront and dunes. The concession owners are helpful and filled with ideas. There was a NYE fireworks display seen from the ocean and many campers trekked to see it - after which we all wished each other well and tucked into a quiet night. (Or maybe the trees are great sound barriers?)
Seasonally, there is a restaurant on site with boat rentals.
Overall - exactly what an RVer could wish for @ state park rates.
Now, one of our favorites!

Went there once a year since 2007. The last time was about 3 weeks after the hurricane in 2017. Could not leave the RV without getting eaten by mosquitoes.
The problem with this campground is that you hardly ever get a site, they are taken for many month ahead. I gave up on it, will not go back there...
