Very easy check in.. Beautiful and very private camping area. Not a far drive to downtown to check out St. Augustine. Would definitely come here again.

Anastasia state park is a beautiful park and all of the camping areas are very well maintained. The facilities are very clean and easily accessible. The beach is a little bit of a hike but well worth it once there. We are tent campers and the sites are perfect and all have a certain degree of privacy. The wildlife is not aggressive but will capitalize on any unsecured containers. Overall a great experience and will visit again.

Check-in was smooth, as I had registered online, the map to the site was clear, and the although the trees impeded on one side, getting set up was a breeze. Site 138 was level, shaded and the power and water were both on the correct side (driver's side). Nice access to the beach, and the whole family had a great time.

Florida State Parks are a thing of BEAUTY!! I thought we had it good in Wekiwa, and we did, but Anastasia was possibly even better? I had been to St. Augustine as a child, but only remembered having my wallet stolen at Ripley’s believe it or not. And from the site map, it is really hard to tell what the topography will be. The site looks large, and it is, but it feels incredibly private. The campsite is close to everything--the fort, the alligator farm, and all of the historical monuments that make St. Aurustine so famous.
We pulled up, had reservations, and were ready to pull up to our site pretty quick. The rangers were super friendly. Driving to our loop felt magical. The several loops are separated and it feels like a one loop sort of place, even though it isn’t. Coming up to our site, we noted the nice long campsites, and ours even had a brand new table. There were campers on either side of us, but it was difficult to see them through the trees.
After we set up, we did a quick ocean drive by (did you know they have real dunes here? Our hometown beach had no dunes!!) and went into town. We saw the fort and did a quick dinner and dessert on St. George Street (so fun!).
Back at the campground we enjoyed walking around. They had pretty nice looking bathrooms, a few playgrounds, plenty of hiking trails, and water and electric hookups. No sewer, which we are getting used to. There is a three lane dump station to use on your way out. We’d definitely stay here again. Many campers were in pop ups and tents, and it seems like they were staying for a week or so to fish and enjoy the peace here!

Good news is it is very close to the bathroom which can also be not so good news! Sites in the Coquina loop all appeared to be generous in size with a reasonable amount of foliage for privacy. Can’t speak about other loops. Bathrooms are clean. Some great amenities: laundry, camp store with souvenirs, bike rentals, drinks, and food. Easy walking or biking distance to a very walkable beach. Close to St. Augustine and the lighthouse.

I booked through Reserve America and the amount paid reflects a discount given to Florida seniors (it does not include taxes and fees). Check-in was friendly and easy at the Park Entrance.
The campground is well laid out with level sites each with a picnic table, fire ring and a lantern pole. The sites are "cut" into the dense hammock providing great privacy. Our 30' site on the Sand Dollar Loop was a great size for my smaller Airstream rig and easy to back into. Newer power distribution pedestals provided 50, 30 and 20 amp connections.
We enjoyed cool weather during our visit with some rain, fog in the morning and overcast sky much of the day. I like the cool, comfortable weather in Florida this time of year (January). The only downside was the crushed shell campsite combined with light rain during resulting in a lot of dirt and gravel tracked into the trailer and the tow vehicle.
The Island Beach Shop has all the basics and serves a simple menu. I didn't visit Watersports concession nor did I use the shower facilities so I can't comment on these.
We stayed two nights on January 10 and 11. I'd like to visit again when there is an event or a Saturday farmer's market at the nearby Amphitheater.
Earl and I enjoyed our visit to Anastasia State Park and plan on returning.

Gorgeous beaches and a great paddle board renting company in the park! Great location very convenient to everything in St. Augustine! Cell service wasn’t the best (we did not have a booster yet at this site, it probably would’ve helped!), but it worked. Bathrooms were clean and laundry was reasonably priced. Sites are not on the beach so be prepared for a good bike ride or to hop in the car.

This site was similar to Hanna Park, but fewer people were camping since we were going on a weekday. Anastasia State Park also has half the campsites of Hanna Park, so it feels less busy. Our site was very level and had ample space and nice division from the other sites.
Good bike riding and huge beaches.
Also there is a beach mat that runs from the parking lot to the beach, making it easier than sludging through the soft sand.

We took off three ticks from our dog in three days (including a rain day), so keep an eye on their coat after you walk them around. The beach is one of the better ones on the Atlantic coast and you are close to the city of St. Augustine Beach as well. With large rigs, be advised that the sites are very tight. We saw folks with large 5th wheels be very challenged to back them in. In town, be sure to eat at Harry's that is dog friendly on their large patio and has respectable New Orleans style fare.

Went there once a year since 2007. The last time was about 3 weeks after the hurricane in 2017. Could not leave the RV without getting eaten by mosquitoes.
The problem with this campground is that you hardly ever get a site, they are taken for many month ahead. I gave up on it, will not go back there...
