Rented a Big rig spot for one night as we were putting our RV in a shop in Albuquerque for some service work. We booked our site online and reviewed the COVID policies. The policy states the restrooms, offices, and store are being more frequently cleaned. The problem is when we checked in the restrooms were closed. We had two employees call us to verify our check in time but no one mentioned that ALL the bathrooms were closed. Had we been given this information we would have booked a spot at another campground with the amenities we needed. POOR/ NO customer service. We had to park our RV and pay for a hotel. 👎👎

It is a little pricey for what we needed, but took advantage of the laundry. However, the adjacent casino only allows in-state residents during Covid. Friendly staff helped us find our site and we enjoyed a cool evening watching the stars light up the sky.

We recently stayed at American RV Resort for a week (Nov 2 - 9)
We were planning to watch the presidential elections while there. On Election Day we connected the TV cable and could not get a decent cable connection. We went and purchased another cable figuring ours was bad. No difference. At 4:30pm, I called the office which was closed (??) but did provide an emergency number. I called that number and a very helpful gentleman came out and tested said yes, there was a problem but he could not fix it. Non streaming service either. So we drove into Albuquerque to catch the news.
Same thing for the next few days. Site was very noisy at night. Semis passing by throughout the night. While my husband went to the office to collect a package, he asked if we could have a some type of discount because the cable didn’t work and we had to go into town to catch the latest election news. The courteous woman at the desk said she would check and someone would get back to us.
The following morning I received this rather rude text massage from Robert (presumed to be the Manager or Owner):
‘This is Robert at the front office American RV resort. Had a note on my mailbox that you were asking for some kind of a discount because the cable was not coming in. I cannot give you a discount because we do not charge you for the cable that's a free service we provide and if it works it works if it doesn't we attempt to get it fixed but there will be no discounts given and I would appreciate if we don't bother my staff about this issue any longer. I have already told them there will not be a discount given so therefore you will not be getting a discount and please do not bother my staff about this issue with you.’
My first instinct was to call Robert and let him know how inappropriate his message was. After my husband and I discussed, we decided to wait until we were leaving to pursue the matter as if Robert didn’t like our discussion, he would probably ask us to leave the park.
Overall, this is a nice park, but so are many other nice parks in the area (and probably not as noisy). We will not be staying here again as we prefer to visit parks where your patronage is appreciated.

We stayed here 2 nights as we traveled through Albuquerque to Colorado Springs. Because of Covid-19, there was a packet outside the office when you checked in. We got a call the morning we arrived to tell us about this and asked if we had any questions. We were in Site 206 in the recently renovated section of the park. In the older section of the park, there were several seasonals, but everything was maintained and everyone we saw was friendly and happy to be there. The park is right next door to I-40, so there is constant traffic noise during the day and night. Most of the amenities of this park where closed (pool, hot tub, playground, and complimentary breakfast) due to Covid-19. Complementary WiFi was available (but we didn’t use it), AT&T was 4 bars 5G, there were lots of over-the-air TV stations and our hotspot with a MiFi antenna gave us good speed for streaming. They even had recycling (paper, plastic, cardboard) here too!

We stayed here one night in April, 2020, during the height of the Coronavirus shutdown. We live in Albuquerque, and just wanted to take our little Class A out to stretch her legs and let us have something resembling a getaway!
The park is very in tune to the Coronavirus. Essentially, it's become a non-touch park...the gift shop/front desk is closed and all the transaction was done by phone, with our papers waiting for us on arrival. We asked for a spot with a little distance from others and they easily accommodated with a lovely pull through spot with a picnic table, some grass and some nice trees to either side. Some of the long term campers were still pretty close to each other, but based on signage we saw around, they are working to clear folks out and to be open primarily for overnight guests, which will keep the crowds WAY down.
Needless to say, we didn't need to use the laundry or restrooms/showers. There are restrooms & showers in the main building and there is also a freestanding facility in the middle of the resort. There is a pool and hot tub...neither looks terribly impressive, but not bad either. The overall park was clean, and the leaves were just starting to burst out on the trees, so it made for a nice spot.
Electric was in good shape. The pad was pretty level, so we had little trouble setting up. The water hookup is below ground so that was a little bit awkward. We enjoyed sitting at the metal picnic table on the bit of grass we had, and I used our new portable grill for the first time!
So why not five stars? Well, I'd do 4.5 if I could. The water hookup is a slight deterrent . And as others have said, the noise from the interstate is there when you're in bed, for sure. We were in the middle of the resort, but we could hear the traffic all the time. It is NOT terrible...a bit of "white noise" perhaps...but if you think this might be difficult for you, please be prepared. Although most of Albuquerque's nicer RV parks ARE right along the interstate, so it'll be tough to avoid!
We had a nice stay, and look forward to a return visit during this time of Coronavirus.

The good thing about this place is that it is outside the city limits. I would not park my trailer within the city limits at all unless you want to be broken into or have your vehicle stolen. Albuquerque itself is a dangerous crime infested city. Between January 1-13 428 cars had already been stolen. All American RV is gated which was one of the few perks. The long term spaces are really not long enough to accommodate anything over 30 feet, they’re all back in sites. If you do end up here ask for a back in space in the very back of the park as the interstate noise is horrific. Grass is few and far between for your pets. Paid $590/mo + electric at $.13/kwh. Do take pictures of your meter before you hook up and on the morning of said meter reading, this saved us every month as they never figured it right until we showed them photos of the meter. You are not allowed to use charcoal in the park, you can use the gas grill but it will cost you and you mist supply your own gas?!!! They have hundred pound tanks to use for $10/month and propane was $3.22/pound. We went down the road to fill ours. It could be a great park but they nickel and dime you for everything. The only reason we stayed was for the safety reason. Their so called “high speed” internet was horribly slow and kicked you off every few minutes, the cable channels came and went with no rhyme or reason to them. One minute you had ESPN the next poof it was gone. The laundry and restrooms at the main building were ok, $2.00 to wash and $.75 dry for 45 minutes. There is a pool but it was closed for the winter while we were there. There is also a play area for small children and a small fenced in dog run. Overall it’s a standardized RV park, nothing spectacular but not a dump either. The only reason I would not stay again is that I do not ever plan on staying or visiting Albuquerque again. Yes Albuquerque is that bad.

The park is gated and secured, very clean, well maintained, and well lit at night. While there is some highway noise, it wasn't enough to bother us. The new big rig section is very nice with large, level pads and plenty of space between rigs. The older section was also quite nice, with grass and trees dividing the campsites. Customer service was friendly and we had a great experience with one employee who entered multiple discounts to help us save money on what would otherwise be a very pricey campground. The one big negative for us was their cancellation policy. We thought it was unnecessarily inflexible and harsh. We would absolutely stay here again if we found ourselves back in the area.
