Definition of a campfire should help you. These are allowed. A small fire used for cooking, lighting, etc. They are usually contained in a ring (we usually find rings there already made). Not intended to burn trash! Hope this helps.

The one picture of a fire I saw was a propane-fueled fire pit, not wood-fueled. The propane fires don’t throw sparks and the flame shut-off is immediate (we have one, they are great!)
