“Nice camp, remote but well kept”

I was just scouting out new areas and did not stay but I do plan to return in the future. The camp was very clean, host was still on-site post-Labor Day. Bathrooms were clean and sites were as spotless as you could make a gravel campsite be. And a first - doggie-doo bags are available at each site's ID post. There was a pumphouse with a threaded water tap right at the entrance so you can pull over and fill up without blocking the road. There were a few other taps located around camp as well. All but deserted after Labor Day but I could see this being fairly busy in the summer. The sites were well spaced and were mostly on the larger side with plenty of room for most rigs. Basic table and fire ring at each. There are two areas designated for day-use parking and easy access to the Bitterroot River for fishing. Lots of shade in here so if you are solar dependant you may struggle to find enough sun

“Quiet CLEAN peaceful campground ”

Me and my family has enjoyed this campground for many years. The current hosts really strive to keep it clean and enjoyable for all. The vaulted bathrooms are kept up and thanks to Karen, have a pleasant aroma. Alta campground is a nice location to trails, lakes for 4x4 and side-by-sides. They do accept reservations and are HIGHLY recommended! They do have a few walk-ins available. As with any campground, they do have rules, speed limit, dogs must be leashed, quiet hours... to the joy of most campers.
