This was a gem. It’s for smaller rvs and tents but if you can fit you should try it. We stayed in a 25 ft RV towing a jeep which we unhooked right at the entrance. There are 5 tent sites and 5 rv sites. Each site has a picnic table, grill and fire ring. There are vault toilets which we didn’t use.

Traffic during the day is a little noisy but the river is delightful at night and early morning.
Nice scenery, pit toilets, well water pump, & trash stations made this 100% worth 8 bucks.
ATT - hotspot would not connect
Verizon - 0 bars on phone
T-Mobile hotspot - 5 down/1 up

First come, first serve. Outhouse-style toilets and water available (from a water pump, only one for the campground). The fact that the sites are all right on the Gunnison River is huuuuge plus. We brought our chairs down to it and let our two year old splash around and throw rocks. It was so peaceful.
There are two drawbacks. First, this campground is literally right off the road—which goes up the crested butte—so expect road traffic. It didn’t really bother us though. Second, cell service is tough. We got one bar of LTE (even with a cell booster) but it was hard to get work done. Otherwise, this place was a hidden gem.

Open, there are only a couple sites, for small size rigs and tent camping. Normally $12 a night, they do have a discounted rate six dollars per night for America the beautiful pass. There’s some road noise, but quiets down at night.
