Overview of Abrams Creek Campground
Reservations required. RVs and trailers are not recommended. But sites can fit 12 ft. rigs.
All food and equipment used to prepare and store food (stoves, pots, coolers, etc.) must be kept sealed in a vehicle (preferably the trunk) or in a camping unit constructed of solid, non-pliable material AT ALL TIMES when not in use. All scented items (candles, soap, etc.) as well as all water containers must also be stored. If your vehicle does not have a trunk for storing food and equipment, the following campgrounds have a limited number of food storage lockers: Abrams Creek, Big Creek, Cades Cove, Cataloochee, Cosby, Deep Creek, Elkmont, and Smokemont.
Dispose of garbage promptly in dumpsters provided. Unattended or improperly stored coolers, food, and scented items may be impounded by campground staff. This regulation will be strictly enforced and violators are subject to fines.

Off the beaten bath but a great way to escape the crowds. All of the sites along the creek are amazing. We were in site 11, nice but next to a group site so a little louder than I like. There are trails near by but I was unable to experience. Bear boxes and trash bins. Centrally located water. Bathroom was not super clean but passable. Area to wash dishes away from your site at the bath house.

“Nice Small Camp Ground Small Campers or Tents”

Nice small campground on a stream, down the hill to get in on a curvy road. Only two teardrop campers, the rest were tents. The camper spots are rated for 12 foot trailers. Hiking nearby to Abrams Waterfall, about 4 miles. Some sites right off stream on gravel pads. There is water but no electric. There are bathrooms and showers.
Second night a bunch of mid 20s people came in and had about 9 people in one site and were up until 2 am talking loudly, so be prepared it is a very small campground and it appears the Ranger office up the road is hardly occupied.
NO CELL service on ATT or others from what I could tell.
