“Loud, busy street near downtown”

Reviewed Oct 25, 2017

Overall Rating

We really didn't like this spot. 2100S is a very busy street during the day with lots of loud traffic going 50 MPH 5 feet from your RV. Police and traffic enforcement roll by often giving bad looks. I asked the traffic enforcement what the deal was, she said we were allowed to park there for 48 hours. At nighttime it did quite down a bit, but then I was nervous about my bikes due to the sketchy Meth heads roaming around.

The only reason why we stayed here was to explore Salt Lake City on our bikes. There is access to the Bike The City Trail thru the golf course right where we parked. This was the only thing we found to due here, and the highlight was stopping at the brewery.

There is limited legit parking heading East on 2100S. The Westward lanes, on the golf course side, have signs stating 2 hour parking limit. We parked in front of a large out of business building.

“As good as parking on a street can get”

Reviewed Dec 05, 2016

Overall Rating

When traveling west on 2100 S in Salt Lake City, after you pass the flying J you will notice wide shoulders on the road with "No Parking" signs. Once you cross over an overpass the signs go away and the shoulders of the road here are used as overflow overnight parking from the travel center. We parked here on a Saturday in the morning and felt comfortably off the road (there is a bike lane between the parking shoulder and road) and had a view of a golf course next to us.

We left the rig there for the day while we explored the city. Exploring was easy as there was a train stop only about a quarter mile from where we parked. The train got us downtown in about 15 minutes.

When we returned at about 7pm, the street was nearly full of trucks, other campers, and cars looking for a place to spend the night. We felt very safe as the street is well lit and in a nicer part of town. The road noise did not bother us much, but of course it was fairly significant.
