I arrived late in the evening and had no trouble finding a good spot. Well maintained dirt road. Water fill and dump station 8miles away at visitors center in fruita sites are far enough off the road we weren’t bothered by some of the truck traffic we encountered

Very convenient location with level camping spots but very rutted road. Very quiet and beautiful scenery.

If you have a dog however, I recommend finding a different place. There is some sort of 'stickers' growing here, that literally cover 90% of all the ground surface. To my uneducated eye they look like miniature wheat buds...I don't know what they are called.
I can tell you it was miserable for both our dogs, and even us humans got a few in our sandals...not the first time we have encountered something like this in a desert setting, but this was probably the most prolific.
Too bad!

Easy to find and a quiet location. We stayed 2 nights passing through. About 10 miles out on a paved road, many clean level spots to stay on. A lot of Off-road Trails which we enjoyed riding. Easy to find and a quiet location. We stayed 2 nights passing through. About 10 miles out on a paved road, many clean level spots to stay on. A lot of Off-road Trails which we enjoyed riding. We will stay again. We travel in a Class A with a tow trailer and stayed in the first pull out area on the right. We stayed in early June , weather was mild with evening breezes. All in all, very pleased with this area.

20 minutes from the closest Walmart and Lowes. 15 minutes from the Fruita welcome center, which has FREE potable water and FREE RV dump. 15 min from the Fruita community center which has shower and fitness center/track for $7 for an adult. 15-20 min from virtually everything, but remote enough that you're more or less by yourself. ... more

Great location for solar and dry camping. No wood available for gathering as it is all prairie.
The entire road is paved and leads to a propane plant so there is minor traffic to and from there, mainly 18 wheelers. I'd assume that the road gets plowed by the propane plant.
The entire area is open range, however there are dirt roads leading out into the prairie.
For camping you could drive way out I think, but for me and my pops who is towing a bass boat, we just pulled off the road.
This feels safe. It's clean. No homeless people or sketchy abandoned vehicles or RVs around. The 5 or so miles leading up to this is all farmers and ranchers so I'm sure it's all good people.
In my opinion, this is a solid spot that is close to all the city amenities but still away from it.
I work remotely using Starlink and solar and I have no problems.
Sometimes it can get a little windy but nothing too crazy yet.
There are multiple spots on either side of the road, just drive down and you'll find them. There's a guy with a dually and a 30ft 5th wheel a bit further down.
